Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I'm taking part in the RideLondon 100 race for the Rainbow Trust Children's Charity. It's going to take a lot of training, a lot of dedication and with your help we'll raise £800 for children with a life-threatening or terminal illness in the process.
The RideLondon 100 Challenge
It's a 100mile cycling race through London and is one of the legacies of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Along with over 50,000 riders, I'll start in the new Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford, then follow a 100-mile route on closed roads through the capital and into Surrey's stunning countryside before finishing at The Mall. Here's the RideLondon 100 route. I get scared everytime I watch that! Everyone must complete the race within 9 hours. But to make things even tougher I'm aiming for under 6 hours. This route is the Olympic route made famous recently by the world's best cyclists and it's going to be spectacular!
Rainbow Trust Children's Charity
Like everyone here I was inspired by the Olympics. Unfortunately, I'm not a world class athlete. But what I do have is a passion for cycling and would love to raise money doing something I enjoy. Keen to sign up for a charity focused on children I came across the Rainbow Trust. I learnt about what their mission is and what they do and immediately got in contact. What is particularly inspiring is their approach to help the family as well as the child through the illness and beyond. I am thankful for this opportunity to ride for the Rainbow Trust and with your help will be able to raise money to help them continue their fantastic work.
