Story
Thanks for visiting our team fundraising page.
As many of you know Pamela, the kids and I have been lucky enough to spend many a summer month in the south west of france, namely the Pays Basque.
It struck me during our annual pilgrimage some years back that it would be somewhat of a challenge to make the journey on a bicycle and truly sample the sights, sounds and smells of the different regions of the Atlantic Coast.
Being firmly in the midlife crisis bracket I concluded that my 45th year would be the ideal time to tackle this, when else?!
Thus, the Belfast 2 Biarritz challenge was conceived, to be completed during the summer of 2016.
I am being supported along the way by a variety of friends and family with Sam, Ian, George and Ken keeping me company throughout the Irish leg, before my son Christopher takes over the baton for the French leg.
Pamela and Erin will join us in Bordeaux to guide us through to the
finish line in Biarritz, completing 1000 miles over the 14 days.
As some of you will know the last few years, healthwise, have been
difficult for some of those nearest and dearest to me. Therefore I
wanted to split my charity fundraising efforts between the two illnesses that have effected my family and so many others we know.
I would be grateful if you could monitor the two charities that create this team page and try to keep the dontions split equally balanced, unless you feel particularly strongly about one cause or another.
My technical support team will ensure that our facebook page is updated if you want to monitor our progress.
Thank you for your support and generousity.
