I have had the privelege when I was back at St Katharines Primary School to see the link start with the Yurie Yoshimi School in Uganda. The school gives opportunities to a variety of young children, some are orphans, some handicapped and basically a range of children i poverty who deserve a good education. When I was younger, each student in my school was assigned a pen friend. Me and my younger brother wrote and sent toys to our penfriends who seemed very happy with a toy and some clothes every so often. I did indeed promise to meet them one day and here is my opportunity. In my early teens I had the opportunity to meet Nelson, the man who founded the school and his wife. Nelson is incredible, a happy man, handicapped who walks on his hands.

Inspired through these many years through the school, I have this opportunity with YUYO to visit the school in Uganda for 10 days. This visit will be very important in raising money to bring supplies with us, engaging in the Ugandan culture, and also taking part in educating and entertaining the children and staff of this school. An opportunity for me to help and understand another world.

So my aim is to raise £1000, to fund my trip and any price over would be a bonus for the charity. This gives me and our group of 24 to travel over bringing plenty supplies, to teach the children, and to work on projects in our time over there.
