St Luke’s is an independent charity caring for terminally ill adults and their loved ones across Sheffield. Each year, we care for around 1,900 patients most of whom are cared for in their own home by our Specialist Palliative Care Community team.

Story

By tackling these three separate events in Hathersage and Dalby Forest over winter, my target is to raise £528 for St Luke's Hospice, Sheffield.

£528 will pay for 24 hours care for one in-patient who is being looked after by their amazing staff at a time of their lives when they need it most.  Many of you knew my father-in-law, Ron, who benefited from their care. St Luke's gives Sheffield people with life-limiting illness the best possible quality of life.

Their skilled, dedicated staff care for 1,400 adult patients a year - all ages, from all walks of life throughout the city - all free of charge.   They need to raise £5.6 million each year to keep going.

Feel free to come along to any of the three events, especially the run and ride at Dalby Forest - see details below;

1) SWIM - End October 2015 : 1 mile outdoor swim at Hathersage Pool http://www.hathersageswimmingpool.co.uk/find-us/

2) BIKE - Saturday 28 November 2015 : 36km MTB Red Route at Dalby Forest http://www.mtbtrails.info/Trail_Venue.aspx?VenueNumber=63#TrailNumber95

3) RUN - Saturday 30 January 2016 : 5 mile Dalby Forest Head Torch Race on the tracks and trails through Dalby Forest, North Yorkshire. http://www.noegochallenge.com/torchchallenge-detail.php?EID=53
