WHO?

Ed Shawcross, Arthur Banks, Will More, George Shepherd 

WHAT?

Cycling from Land’s End to John O’Groats:

9 days

951 miles - 106 miles per day

42,493ft elevation gain - climbing nearly twice the height of Everest

7 hours per day in the saddle (minimum!)

WHERE?  

The length of the UK 

WHEN?  

14th August 2021 to 22nd August 2021 

WHY? 

BECAUSE 1 in 4 adults in the UK suffer from a diagnosable mental health problem 

BECAUSE suicide is the biggest killer of males under the age of 45 

BECAUSE mental health problems represent the largest single cause of disability in the UK 

BECAUSE only 1 in 8 adults with a mental health problem are currently receiving treatment 

BECAUSE nobody should suffer with poor mental health alone 

BECAUSE if we talk about mental health and wellbeing, we can break down stereotypes, remove the stigma, encourage earlier intervention and improve access to support services 

BECAUSE funding and awareness is crucial for Mind in Somerset to provide their life-changing and life-saving support services
