Story

Update 7th Jan 2020

Thank you all for the support and donations.

#GRATITUDE Today I got a call advising that I should receive the first box of new medicines within 5 weeks!!!

I’ve lived my 35 years on this planet with the sword of Damocles above my head- being told I would be lucky to reach 30. Perhaps if I outdo all odds then 40.
Ever since I can remember the doctors have always said a cure should be 3-5 years away. Yet like a kid waiting for a Christmas that never came, nothing ever materialised.
About 4 yrs ago we heard about this new drug but it was so expensive the NHS couldn’t afford it.

Back to Aaron from 4/1/20

The below was set up for my 30th birthday. I am now 35 and continue to be as fortunate with our amazing NHS and breakthroughs in CF medicines being available this year. A lot of credit for these medicines being available is due to the fantastic work by the CF Trust.

Thank you all and I am the luckiest guy I know.

2020 Aaron

Back to 2015 Aaron:

When I was born I was given the life expectency of thirty years old. Approaching that landmark is a testamony to the care and support I have received over the years from the scores of doctors, nurses, family and friends.

Hence instead of any gifts or cards this year I wouldnbe grateful for a donation to the charity responsible for funding research and helping people with Cystic Fibrosis.

Many, unfortunately, do not get the chance to celebrate their 30th birthday as I am about to do. Hence let us not celebrate until all with CF can at the very least celebrate this milestone if not many more.
