Over recent weeks, I've learnt a lot more about period poverty in the UK as well as how people across the world are impacted. Many women and girls in Kenya cannot afford sanitary pads, and they must often choose between paying for their children's education or buying sanitary products.

But I have been utterly inspired by one woman in Kenya who has been working tirelessly to end period poverty in her community.

Juliana is from Barut, and she has been teaching women and girls how to make their own reusable sanitary pads. Then she helps distribute them around the local community. Her work is utterly inspiring, but now she needs more support to expand her project and end period poverty for everyone in her community.

Juliana wants to raise enough money to fund a hub that will provide jobs to women in her community, where they can make enough reusable pads for everyone who needs them.

A sanitary kit costs just £8 to make and can last for two years. So just an £8 donation can put one person out of period poverty for a very long time.
