Story
Thank you for your time.
My name is Aaron Shahrabany. This year, I’ve been chosen, alongside 5 other boys, to represent Great Britain in tennis. It’s a great honour to do so and I will be heading to Israel this summer for the Maccabi games, which is in fact the 3 biggest sporting event in the world, after the Olympics and the commonwealth games.
These games aren't only composed of tennis, but a wide variety of sports such as football, table tennis, badminton, swimming etc. All the best Jewish athletes within each country come to the games and compete against each other. I represented Maccabi in the European games in Vienna back in 2011 and it was a great experience to play against players from around the world and to be within such a close community and couldn’t wait to try out for these games and now they’re so close.
These games are an excellent way to spread our culture through sporting activities.
In order for myself and every other athlete in Great Britain taking part to secure their places, a fare of £4000 is required. So I would be extremely grateful if you could donate as this would give all of us athletes a chance to compete in this spectacular games.
On 26.05.2013 I’m running the 10Km Maccabi GB fun run in order to help raise money. All donations from this page will be going straight to the Maccabi GB charity and therefore helping me to raise the fares required to participate in this summer’s games.
Thank you once again for your time.
