Story

Woohoo, welcome to my page!

I'm going to be running the BUPA Great Manchester Run on the 15 May 2011. It's my first race and I decided to skip the 5k and go straight for the 10k since I've been running regularly for a year now. Despite my regular running, 10k will still be a challenge for me (remember how little my legs are??) and it’s also a great opportunity to support a charity.

I'm running in aid of the Red Cross. The Red Cross don't just work overseas, they do a huge amount of work closer to home in the UK. They were there to distribute bottled water to the most vulnerable people in Northern Island when the freezing weather destroyed the water supply system. They are there at Creamfields and Glastonbury and our football and rugby matches.

Here's an idea of what your donations can do:

£5: Supply 1,300L of purified water to crisis hit people overseas

£10: Buy a first aid kit for Emergency Response teams to use in the UK

£20: Provide blankets to keep a family in war-ravaged areas warm and dry

£50: Pay for physiotherapy to help a landmine victim walk again

All money donated to this page goes straight to the Red Cross after the event. Please choose gift aid when donating and give generously!

Thanks!

xx
