Big Fun Run Ipswich 2019 · 31 August 2019 ·
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In the past 9 months my husband and I have had the privilege of meeting 2 of our beautiful children, on the 1st Sept 2018 we met our first baby girl born sleeping, at a mere 1lb 1oz at 24 weeks... our hearts were broken. It’s a pain we never thought we would ever have to experience, and it has definitely changed our perspective on life. Having lost our baby girl we found the charity Sands, they have provided an amazing support system through their app/instagram and websites, and seeing the work they do makes you realise you are not in this alone.... fast forward to 20th January 2019 we were lucky enough to find out we had been blessed with our 2nd pregnancy...
This time baby boy, a little brother for his big sister in heaven... ❤️This time we prayed for different circumstances but unfortunately we gave birth again (exactly 9months to the day after our baby girl) to a beautiful baby boy on the 1st June 2019, we had a few hours with our little man before he left us to be with his sister. At the tender age of 23 weeks at 1lb 2oz, we never thought our hearts could break twice but recently have come to the realisation maybe things just aren’t meant to be.
We are yet to figure out our next move but have an overwhelming urge to give back, on our journey to parenthood we have had the privilege of meeting some amazing people and it’s time to make a difference.
On behalf of Sands, myself and my husband Mark will be running a 5k Big Fun Run on the 31st Aug 2019 in Christchurch Park, Ipswich, joined by our friends and family to raise money for an amazing cause.
Sands exists to support anyone affected by the death of a baby, to improve the bereavement care received by parents and families, and to promote research to reduce the number of babies dying. Everything we do – the services we run, the public health messages we promote, the way we raise money – is focused around these three aims.
So in supporting this charity, we may one day get our happy ever after. Your support means the absolute world so if you would like to contribute or even do the race with us feel free to get involved.
Thanks
