Many thanks for visiting my JustGiving page.

I have wanted to raise money for this Charity for a long time and after reading about the work they do to support people living with cancer and knowing so many people that have been affected in one way or another has encouraged me further to raise the money. So, the flat race seemed like a perfect opportunity to combine fundraising with a bit of fun!

I can't imagine I'll look anything like my profile picture (possibly more like the old fashioned Thelwell) but I am doing my best to prepare and taking it seriously. If that doesn't work there is some comedy value in it for you all. As someone pointed out to me earlier in the week, getting to the start without ending up in Japan would be a bonus.  

I have ridden in a point to point/breaking yard for 3 years and more recently ride out in a yard training both flat and National Hunt horses. However I can imagine steaming down the inner at 30mph is quite different from lobbing round a gallop 4 times a day!!

It is a flag start, so i'll have to start practising facing the right way and it is run over one mile one furlong.

In all seriousness it is a wonderful charity and you would be helping millions of people everyday.

Please help me raise my target for this invaluable charity.
