The Vitality Big Half Marathon · 1 March 2020
My name is Abigail and I’m 17 years old.
I’m still a student at school and currently studying my A Levels in Biology, Chemistry and Geography. In the future I aspire to become a doctor, a paediatrician and through this be able to not only physically help children through illness but give hope.
I am a runner myself but previous to this challenge I have never pushed myself past 6.2 miles (10km) so this next step will be a struggle for my little body to cope with running 13.1 miles. I have chosen to donate my fundraising money to The Great Ormond Street Charity as I understand the impact this support gives some you of the young people and their families. Just over a year ago I had an appendix removal in the hospital, my short stay in hospital really opened my eyes to what some children have to go through and live with everyday. Being able to understand even just a glimpse of what some young people daily deal with has inspired me to get involved with a challenge like this.
