Story
Abingdon Riding for the Disabled are a charity supporting children and adults with various disabilities to achieve their goals through riding and equine therapy. Our riders do everything from walks around the field with assistance to sit up on their horse, to competing at national para-dressage and jumping competitions. As a charity, we are based at our purpose built centre in Southmoor and have been operating since 1975. We have 18 horses and ponies to care for and support over 100 riders every week. We are reliant on around 150 volunteers a week to care for our animals, maintain our yard, teach and support riding sessions and to fundraise. We rely on donations, grants and fundraising to meet our costs, which total to nearly £100,000 every year.
We are so grateful to be the charity partner of Blenheim International Horse Trials 2022. This is a huge opportunity for a local charity to raise some vitally needed funds, at one of the most spectacular equestrian events of the year.
Please donate a small amount if you are able - small amounts add up to make a huge difference to those needing our help.
