Story
Charity is very important to us at the Absolute Recruitment Group and this year, as we've been unable to do our usual Charity Easter Egg collection, we've had to come up with something different.
This year, the team at Absolute are carrying out a charity Easter Cake Bake-off. It's a friendly competition amongst the team to see who can bake the most impressive Easter Cake, all in aid of raising money for The Emily Ash Trust, a fantastic charity which is very close to our hearts.
The Emily Ash Trust was started in 2002 when Emily was diagnosed with Leukaemia. Originally founded to raise awareness of the need for bone marrow donors, the trust has now evolved and their primary aim is to provide support to families who have a child, teenager or young adult with cancer. Run entirely by volunteers, all donations go directly to the cause, supporting families in need.
It was through the Emily Ash Trust that we met Bradley, a wonderful, kind, joy-filled young man who was fighting a battle with cancer. He joined our team at the start of 2020 and was always smiling, in spite of what he was going through - always the happiest person in the room. Sadly, he passed away last autumn and we miss him terribly. His incredible spirit is an example to us all and so our fundraising for the Emily Ash Trust is in his memory.
This Easter, the trust are holding a "Build a Bear" event on the ward for some of the children and so we're asking for donations to help us raise as much as possible towards bringing a bit of Easter joy. Any and all donations (however big or small) are much appreciated and we'd love it if you could share this page with your friends, families and networks to help us raise money and awareness for this wonderful cause.
