On Thursday June 17th 2010 myself, Pete Jinks, Mirek Kalewski, Rob Porter, Chris White and Adam Williamson will play 500 holes of golf in a day to rasie money for the Acorns Children's Hospices Trust. We will start at daybreak 04.44am and finish at sunset 21.33. We will between us walk over 120 miles, hit more than 2200 golf shots and end the day tired but with the glow one gets when raising money for sucha fantastic cause.

Acorns have three specialist children's hospices at Selly Oak, Walsall and Worcester and they currently care for over 600 life limited children and their families. Acorns estimate that there are a further 1000 children who could be benefiting from Acorns services if they had the money to expand. Each year Acorns have to find over £6 million and relies on fundraising for more than £4.8 million of this total - so every pound you give is one pound closer to that target.

Acorns make no charge for the life-limiting services they provide but it does cost £450 per day for a childs care.

It is hoped that you will never need the services Acorns offer but the work they do, in one of the most challenging areas of child health is fantastic. Even if you can only afford a £1 I can assue you that every penny of that pound will benefit in someway a child with a life limiting condition. 

Life limited children have a lot of living to do, and with all our help Acorns can make every day extra special for the children and families it serves.

We will also be holding a "Sporting Auction" and other fundrasing events, because although there is a box to enter your target in we really want to raise as much money as we can.
