Story

WE DID IT !!!!  It was the most grueling challenge any of us had ever undertaken - the sense of achievement was amazing. We completed the 24th peak after 23 hrs and 35 minutes of tough walking and climbing - so with just 25 minutes to spare!!!

A MASSIVE THANK YOU to everyone who supported us with their time, efforts and money. The fundraising events have all been a huge success; we have smashed our target with more ££ yet to come!!

Thanks for taking the time to visit Acre's JustGiving page.

In September 2014, a number of inspiring Acre team members put their strength and stamina to the test and endeavoured to complete the ‘24 Peaks’ challenge in 24 hours (a total of 51km, and total ascent of 4263m). The Lake District’s equivalent to Everest Base Camp, this climb is a formidable feat which we undertook to raise money for a hugely worth while cause, Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children. GOSH was voted our charity of choice due do the world-class research and work they do to care for thousands of very sick children, brought closer to Acre’s heart when they saved the life of the daughter of one of our colleagues.

GOSH are not only refurbishing and rebuilding the hospital, buying vital equipment for the children and funding ground breaking research, but the Charity also supports the families of the children, providing accommodation and support onsite to make their experience a little easier when their children are being treated by the hospital.

We truly value your support.
