As many of you know I like running and kind of go on about it a lot. Up until now running has only benefited myself so I would like to change that.
Alzheimer's is a cruel disease. It robs people of their freedom and ability to live a full life, and it takes away everything of the person that family and friends love long before it takes their life.
I saw this happen to my grandma. She was the kindest, sweetest soul. She loved to bake, garden, and was always there for her family and friends. To see her go through the process of dementia was heartbreaking. I'm sure many people have had a similar experience. Hopefully there will come a day when Alzheimer's is a thing of the past, or at the very least treatable. This will only come from the work of people like Alzheimer's research UK.
So to do what I can to help make that dream a reality, and in memory of my grandma I'll be running. Any donations you can make would be very much appreciated.
