Helen & Douglas House helps local families cope with the challenges of looking after a terminally ill baby or child who will die prematurely. We are a home from home for our patients and their families, and provide round-the-clock care in a warm, loving environment.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In October 2019 i will be heading to Tanzania and trekking up the highest free standing mountain in the world.  Since cycling to Paris for the amazing charity that is Helen & Douglas house i wanted to push myself out of my comfort zone and raise for funds for the amazing charity.  So when i was asked if i wanted to do the Kilimanjaro trek i said yes, without thinking about the challenge that it would be.

A few years ago I had the great pleasure of supporting 2 amazing twin brothers, who used Helen & Douglas, but sadly Ben passed away in 2012 and Ollie just last year.  I saw first hand the effect Helen & Douglas house on both Ben and Ollie's life as well as there family, the great work they do continues to have a positive affect on families in Oxford and the surrounding area.

Over the next few months i will be embarking on many hours of walking on the treadmill, cycling and training walks.  Any support on these would be greatly appreciated as i prepare what will both be my greatest challenge to date as well as my greatest achievement when i get to that marker at just under 6000 metres above sea level.

Any amount you can afford know matter how big or small will be greatly appreciated by both Helen & Douglas house and myself. I look forward to taking all of those that donate on this amazing adventure with me.
