We Raise awareness of these cancers to support patients, carers & families

Story

I am running my first marathon on Sunday 6th April in Brighton. My training is reaching its peak: over the past few months I have procured myself a pair of offensively garish trainers, become intimately acquainted with nappy rash creme, and developed a fine palate for lukewarm energy gels, so am all set.

I am raising money for the Oesophogeal Cancer Patients Association (OPA). My Dad Stuart was diagnosed with Oesophogeal cancer in 2004 and after recovering initially, he died in July 2008. During his illness the OPA provided our family with a great deal of support through patient support group meetings and providing information on the illness and how to fight it.

Oesophageal cancer is the ninth most common cancer in the UK. The latest figures show more than 5,600 men and 2,800 women in the UK develop oesophageal cancer every year. Any sponsorship you can pledge would be greatly appreciated to allow the OPA to continue to support other families affected by oesophogeal cancer, and to raise awareness of the disease.

Thank you,

Adam,
