Story
About the cause:
Rethink Mental Illness is a charity that supports those with mental health problems and those who care for them. Donations will be used to staff their helpline and fund support groups - both of which are highly in demand and receive no funding from the government or from local councils. Feels like a great charity to support when there is such a crisis in social care.
Mental illness touches many lives. A study by the National Centre of Social Research found that 26% of adults in England (1 in 4) have been diagnosed with mental illness at some stage in their lives. A further 18% of adults reported having experienced a mental illness but not having been diagnosed.
The more we can do to recognise mental illness, reduce stigma and encourage conversation about mental health the better.
Rethink Mental Illness works to improve the health of our nation through challenging attitudes and changing lives, supporting people across the country to get through crises, live independently, and realise they are not alone. For more info visit their website www.rethink.org
Please help us smash our target for a brilliant charity!
