Hi, it's Adam
If you listen to my radio show you will know I've come up with the idea of cycling 450 miles in 6 days from the Eiffel tower in Paris to Blackpool tower in Lancashire. I haven't been on a bike for the last 12 years which makes this challenge even more crazy!
The reason behind it is simple. There are children in the North West of England who are not having the best time of it. They are being physically and mentally abused by their own parents, step parents, carers and in some cases teachers. This leads to them running away from home and finding solice on the streets. Children as young as 7 are sleeping rough.
I've met some people from the Childrens society who specialise in turning the lives around of these kids who've had an awful start in life through no fault of their own. They really are doing an amazing job. However this job costs money.
In total I need to raise £30,000 to enable Pauline and her team in Lancashire to carry on doing their amazing work.
You will have noticed I've put a target on this site of £750 for me and my Dad to raise personally away from the radio through friends and family. That's right my Dad at the ripe old age of 52 (the oldest on the ride) is doing this with me. For those that don't know my Dad, the circumstances of these kids, is very close to his heart and he wants to give everything to the challenge. Seeing how much people think of what he's doing will inspire him through this gruelling week.
Therefore I'm doing something I've never done before. When I ran the marathon or when I lived in a shop window for 7 days I never came to you and asked personally for a donation. This time I need you.
The recession is on and I know its difficult but even a quid will do the business, I promise.
Thanks for your time and donating on here is easy, just follow the instructions and I personally guarentee your money will make a difference.
Adam and His Dad, Martin.
