London Marathon 2018 · 22 April 2018 ·

The National Autistic Society is here to transform lives, change attitudes and create a society that works for autistic people. There is still so much to do to increase opportunities, reduce social isolation and build a brighter future for autistic people. With your help, we can make it happen.

Story

The son of one of MGRW's directors has Autism. We have chosen Asperger's Children and Carers Together (ACCT) as our Charity of the Year to support this very worthwhile Sheffield Charity.

Having missed out on a ballot place for the 2018 marathon, I was fortunate enough to be awarded a place by the National Autistic Society, in return for raising funds on their behalf.

I am therefore attempting to raise as much money as possible for both Charities.

Completing the London Marathon is a personal ambition that I have had for a long time and I realise that I am not getting any younger!

Being given the opportunity to complete this unforgettable personal challenge and to raise funds for such a worthwhile cause at the same time has driven me on in my training.

This is probably the most difficult thing (both physically and mentally!) that I have ever attempted. The short training period, bad winter weather, time commitments and minor injuries have all worked against me - but haven't stopped me yet!

Any donations received will be very much appreciated.

Thank you for your support.
