Everest Base Camp/Island Peak Expedition · 1 April 2023

Our team provides response to search & rescue emergencies to search for vulnerable missing people. We provide nationally qualified search dog teams to support Sussex Police, or anywhere in the UK. We do this 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. All our team members are volunteers.

Story

The Rickett family are undertaking a 21 day trek to Everest Base Camp (5,364m) and Adrian will then attempt to summit Imja Tse (Island Peak) at 6,160m in April 2023 to raise money for Search Dogs Sussex.  Search Dogs Sussex provide response to search & rescue (SAR) emergencies in order to search for, rescue and recover those missing or in distress or potential distress. The missing people we are requested to search for typically don't know they are lost, or don't want to be found. Dementia, Mental Illness, Despondents are all very common reasons we get called out. The team is made up entirely of volunteers, who give their time freely. Serving the community, saving lives.
