2010 is a special year - I will be celebrating my 50th birthday at the end of March, then in December our Mum will celebrate her 80th birthday.

Our family are fortunate to have the opportunity later this year to celebrate Mum's 80th birthday because five years ago she was diagnosed with breast cancer.  Thankfully due to the excellent treatment she received she lives to tell the tale.  Her resilience and attitutude to receiving that devastating news never ceased to amaze us, quite frankly - she just 'got on with it'.

Breast Cancer has touched our family and also the lives of some of my closest friends, with that in mind and this being such a milestone year I want to raise funds this year in honour of our 'Mum', my friends and women everywhere who have or will in the future have to deal with this illness.
