On the 12th of May 2018 I will be pushing myself to the limit both physically and mentally by taking part in Europe’s Toughest Mudder, an 8 hour overnight obstacle race where I’ll be jumping in and out of freezing water, getting electrocuted and taking on demanding obstacles whilst caked in mud! Sounds fun, right?

To help me dig deep and push through the pain barriers I want to take this opportunity to raise awareness of organ donation and raise money for Kidney Research.

This is a cause close to my heart. As some of you will already know, my wonderful wife Carrie has kidney disease through no fault of her own. A freak reaction to a virus as a child has left her with reduced kidney function and with the knowledge that one day she will need a kidney donation.

Each year many people still don’t get the vital organ donations they need. The UK law still requires people to opt in to organ donation by signing the organ register.

Donating an organ is an amazing gesture which literally saves lives! It’s not for everyone but if you feel like you could save someone else life after you pass away, make sure you tell you nearest and dearest about your wishes and sign the register:
