Myself and colleagues on the Board are raising money for the R Charity to provide equipment for the new Royal Liverpool Hospital that will open in the summer of 2017. The hospital will provide one of the best environments to be found anywhere in the world for the delivery of healthcare. The NHS itself will provide funding for a significant amount of new equipment? We are looking, however, to add to this, so that we can provide the highest levels of patient comfort. The R Charity has been set up to support this ambition, and the Board wants to play its part in raising valuable funding.

The aim is that we will raise £25,000 for the Chairity through participation in a number of fundraising activities throughout the year. The first of these will be the "Nippy Dip" in the Mersey on New Year's Day 2016. The final event will be the Liverpool Santa Dash at the end of the year. I will give details of other activities as the year progresses.

Any support you can give will be very warmly received, and will help to ensure the new Royal Liverpool Hospital provides a patient experience second to none.
