In Oct 2013 Eilish aged 3.5years was diagnosed with Wilm's Tumour, (cancer of the kidney) after a 51 week battle, including chemotherapy, radiotherapy and a trial at the Royal Marsden this aggressive tumour came back and Eilish passed away in Oct 2014.

In July 2014 Aidan was born, but little did we know in June 2019 after a short episode of loosing co-ordination in his legs that Aidan aged 4.5years would be found to have a tumour pressing on his spine..... post emergency spinal surgery we found out that Aidan had cancer too.... this time it was Ewing's Sarcoma (a Bone/connective tissue cancer).  We have 6-8months of chemotherapy ahead of us, plus a trip to the Christie in Manchester for 6 weeks of Proton Beam Therapy. But prognosis is good.

I never dreamed that one of my children would be diagnosed with cancer but two.... how can that be.... just unlucky? or in the genes? hopefully we will find that out.... whatever the answer is, I know that it is so unfair (thats a very polite way of putting what I actually have said!) not just for Aidan, but Paul their big brother (now 11years old) having to go through this twice at such a young age.  

Yet again the Beads of Courage Family have come to the rescue, those little tiny glass beads bringing a smile...a glimmer of hope.... and a mountain of support from people who know...
