Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Well it all starts with a very young girl who was always full of life and couldn't keep still. Just allowing her a glimpse out of the front room window was enough to have you running after her round the garden all day. She loved the outdoors and loved interacting with others aswell as just being a strong independant individual. Being overly active was what this little girl was blessed with and she loves to dance like her mother, her name is Rochayah-Indiyah Hope Forbes she is only 2 years 8 months old and she is my daughter.

In October 2011 Rochayah-Indiyah began to go through a change, she was not her normal self but due to her still going through the process of becoming herself we could not forsee the dangers of what changes in her little life was about to be made. She was ill and it was not just a cold or throat infection which the gp prescribed her ammoxicilin for. For 10 days she could not use the toilet, could not eat and was loosing weight rapidly, what was happening to my little princess was all i could think as she deteriorated infront of me. She could not walk, talk or even keep her eyes open as she lay on my chest through day and night, I couldn't bare to see her like this and was not willing to leave her side for nothing including my job. The medication was to be taken for 7 days but after 3 days there was not an inch of improvement and Rochayah-Indiyah was fading away more than ever.

As our worries reached a peak me and Rochayah-Indiyah's mother decided to take her to an emergency doctors as it was around 10pm and couldn't handle seeing her without any life in her, this was not our little dumplin. When we arrived at the practice the doctor asked what she had eaten, we replied "all she will have is water and alot of it at that". The doctor knew what was wrong with her, he had a gut feeling but was unable to say until we had been admitted to A&E for further analysis who tried to refuse admittance? After being in A&E for an hour or 2 going through this test and that test we was accompanied by a nurse who took a deep breath of relief and said "Your very lucky to have brought her in tonight as she would not have made it through the night". Tears started to build up in our eyes as I was not even supposed to be around that night but my plans failed which i am now glad they did. We nearly lost the Heart and Soul of our little family how and why?

Rochayah-Indiyah has been diagnosed with type 1 Diabetes and now has 5 injections per day. She has to be constantly monitored due to her diet. Due to her being so young we have sleepless nights testing her blood sugar levels as they jump from one extreme to another. We are still trying to find a balance and will not stop till we do as we want the best for her and would like her to enjoy a fit, healthy and active lifestyle.

I would not wish this upon no other being and feel that now I should take a stand to help raise awareness for other families and individuals going through Diabetes.
