Our beloved son Joseph was born with colonic atresia and jejunal atresia. This means he had part of his large intestine and small intestine missing. He was immediately rushed to surgery to have an operation to save his life. Six hours later, Joseph was recovering on the Neo Natal Surgical ward. Over the next five weeks, Joseph was tended to by the wonderful doctors and nurses of that ward. Fortunately for us, Joseph grew well enough for us to take him home and he is now a happy, carefree 3 year old. The staff of this ward deal tirelessly with heartbreaking cases every day and when I was given the opportunity to do something for charity, of course I had to choose this one. I am currently in training to learn how to box and on the 27th September I, along with 29 other ladies will be fighting it out at the New York Stadium in Rotherham - all in the name of charity.
