Hi everyone,

A big thank you for taking the time to visit my page. I have signed up to run the Manchester half-marathon on the 22^nd May 2022. This will be my first time ever running this distance but it’s for a cause that is very close to my heart. 

Mental health is a term that we are hearing increasingly more of but unfortunately it doesn’t take away how frightening and challenging it can be to battle with your own mind. Supporting the understanding of mental health and empowering others on their journey so that they can enjoy their lives again is one of the biggest reasons I work in mental health. Mental health is not just about the absence of difficulties - it is learning to manage when we may have periods of challenges and obstacles thrown in our way and getting back on track again. 

In addition to actually getting over the finish line (!), I am hoping to raise some funds for a local charity in Manchester, ‘Moodswings’. This charity does invaluable work to enable people to begin their recovery journey so that they can live happier and more fulfilled lives. Any donations at all would be greatly appreciated and will enable Moodswings to continue to develop the services that they provide.
