Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As I reach the grand old age of 60, I wanted to mark the occasion by running/walking a marathon distance around the hilly terrain of the northern Peak District.  Moreover, I wanted to take the opportunity of raising some money on behalf of Edale Mountain Rescue.  They do a hugely important job in all weathers to rescue those who have found themselves in difficulty around the Peak District and surrounding area, including rescuing a close friend of mine a few years ago. It is not unusual for those efforts to be literally life-saving. For more information, see: https://edalemrt.co.uk/

I am designing the route myself and will run the marathon on or around the day of my birthday, depending on which day the weather is least inclement.
