We Help and support local families to change lives and beat cancer

Story

Hello everyone, i hope you have all survived lockdown 3.0 and came out relatively unscathed. Maybe even a few of you have been inspired to get out to the great outdoors or maybe just missed catching up with freinds for a few drinks or a meal?
I know i certainly missed both a whole lot but luckily ive had a nice time chilling, learning, eating and loving with alot of time to reflect on the last challenge i set myself for Cancer Research.

The idea of doing 300 mile on a push iron makes my spine shudder and my arse scream out for sudacrem and a little more padding so ive chose something different to do this July.

I knew after the last one that i wanted to excell and do one better. Im confident i have the determination and still enjoy putting myself out of my comfort zone mixed with complete stupidity that i can go one better and this year, i can push myself a little further and harder. Also, given myself longer than a 3 week window of traning to prepare, a novise mistake i made last time out!

If you’re still reading then ill start by thanking you for your interest along with a huge thanks to everyone who supported me last time.

The chairty im representing this time, is one ive had an affiliation with for some years and ran by an amazing fella, Micky Day. He hasnt had the easiest times of late but every time i see or speak with him hes always infectiously upbeat and always wears a huge smile. Micky runs the chairty, miles4men. They offer a whole range of support systems for people and families but the main one that inspires me to gather as much funds as possible is that he assists families with young children access respite caravans after very invasive treatments. That alone is enough for me to promote this challenge and push me when i know for certain that time comes when i will be struggling to put one foot infront of the other! (insert just giving page)

My challenge will start off at Ben Nevis which is 10.7 miles in distance and 1,374 meters of accent and descent. Then onto Scarfell Pike, a little under 6 miles and a climb and descent of 900 meters, then off to Snowden, roughly 3 1/2 miles amd around 800 meters ascent/descent.

Now most normal folk would call it a day at that point but me being me, I’m heading over to the brtual amd monotonous Yorkshire 3 peaks which is an added 25mile, cross terrain hike where i will be finshing my challege.

Most of you know the reason why i chose my last one and its nearly exactly a year that i chose to actually live a life and in the real world. A decision i have never looked back on and one that has changed my life in so many ways and given me an extra determination to push myself further, both physically and mentally and all to raise awareness and hopefully inspire people along the way.

As far as my research has got me in the last 8 months, i have found an adventure company, they state that out of 500 people who have attempted this challenge without any break other than travelling time, only 3 people have completed. I aim to have this done within 36 hours possibly 40 including travelling time and i want to be that number 4 who has done it off his own back and for such an unreal cause.

Every little helps, even a small donation will go a hell of a long way. Even if you cannot afford, your well wishes and words of encouragement will support me a long way.
