CAFOD works with local partners and communities across the world - responding to emergencies, promoting long-term development and raising public awareness of the causes of poverty. We work with people of all faiths and none for a safe, sustainable and peaceful world.

Story

I'm running a ‘Race for Justice’ for CAFOD - the six World Major Marathons (London, Boston, Berlin, Chicago, New York, and Tokyo) in twelve months, finishing in Tokyo on Sunday 22 February. Donations to the CAFOD Lent Appeal will be matched by the UK government up to the value of £5m between Wednesday 18 February to Friday 17 May. This means that donations will have double the impact, helping even more people living in extreme poverty.

You can also donate by text message, by texting the code ALMU79 to 70070 followed by the amount, for example: ALMU79 £5.

£3 buys a spade to dig a compost pit, creating rich soil that helps food to grow in a changing climate.

£7 buys a family survival kit, with food and medicine for after a disaster hits.

£12 trains a farmer how to use local rivers to water their crops and vegetables so they can survive a drought.

£50 gives a teacher all the information they need to teach their students how to stay safe in an emergency.

£300 pays to run an emergency drill with a whole village, showing families how to stay safe should a disaster hit.

Thanks for your support!
