Well I did it! It took me 3h26m and it was very hot. Maia had a great time jumping on a bouncy castle and having her face painted twice. I will put some pictures up soon. Thank you to everyone that sponsored me. If you haven't there is still time :0)

Thank you to everyone who has donated so far. There is now just over a week to go and I have bought some new shorts! Please donate if you haven't done so and feel free to offer me a massage afterwards!

Well I managed a hilly(ish) 20 miles with no chocolate yesterday so should be good for another 20 if I stuff my face full of snickers!

Thanks to everyone for donating so far. You have all been very generous. I rode my eBay purchase yesterday for the first time and realise I need to fix the brakes and adjust the saddle!

Thanks for taking the time to visit my page. I will cycling 50 miles or more again this year along with at least two colleagues, Chi-Hwa Chan - Consultant Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon with a special interest in Head & Neck Cancer and Robert Bunyan - President of the British Association of Oral Surgeons with a special interest in dental rehabilitation for patients after surgery for mouth cancer.

This year I have invested in a road bike which according to my colleagues might make it a little easier but looking at the saddle I am not at all convinced!.....

I am raising money for Saving Faces which is a superb charity funding research and treatments for mouth, head & neck cancer, facial deformity and facial trauma, which is very close to my heart. Every year Saving Faces needs £550,000 to keep up its research. In particular this year we are trying to raise £500 for Saving Faces to pay for the ongoing research into oral cancer survival at the Luton & Dunstable Hospitals Network where I work. My colleagues have another website where they are raising money too.

I am extremely grateful to everybody who gave so generously last year. If I am able to raise just £200 this year with the money my colleagues raise we will be able to continue our research for another year. Any money surplus to the £500 will be kept by Saving Faces for their research.
