Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
You may have noticed that the above picture is of Lance Armstrong, although you could be forgiven for thinking this is me in training.
The Charity I am supporting is Ronald McDonald House, Guys & St Thomas's Hospital. This fabulous Charity provides free overnight accomodation and support for the families whose children are staying in one of the aforementioned hospitals. The cost of running this facility is roughly £300,000 per annum, which is raised mostly through charitable giving.
Having used the facility myself several years ago, I know first hand the huge comfort this has for parents who need to stay close to their little ones while they receive hospital care. The work done by Ronald McDonald House to keep families close by at these difficult times is simply first class.
So, to the cycle ride:
I am setting off from London (Wraysbury) on Monday 3 May 2010, aiming to cycle approx.50 miles per day, arriving at my desitination around St Austell on Friday 7 May (hopefully also in 2010!). Total mileage is c240.
I have a fair bit of work to do to ensure I am ready for my most gruelling challenge to date, so any words of encouragement or advice will be gratefully received.
Please give as generously as you can, however, I will be delighted to receive whatever donation you feel able to give. Thank you in anticipation of your support.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Thanks again,
Alan
