Well here I am again. Starting early this time, it’s just turned January so I’ll start as I mean to go on. 3 events planned this year (crossed fingers). Number 1 is a little something to get me started but nonetheless important for the journey - Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park 10km
I care about our community. I care about our young people. Both go hand in hand as us elders must train the youngstars and they in turn can look after us. With so much going wrong in our community, leadership is very important. 100BMOL (100 Black men of London Charity) is doing just that. A group that is not afraid to take action to improve the lives of our young diamonds by giving them the tools to be a success. I am a new mentor with 100BMOL and from my brief assignments I have seen the passion, professionalism and pro-activity from members as they mentor the young people every fortnight. Before Xmas we took them to the cinema to see a very entertaining film called Queen of Katwe, the true story of an 8 year old female Uganda chess champion. The film was moving and we had a great discussion about it at the end. Many of our young people do not have this opportunity. My goal is to provide it...
