Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This journey that Eve and I embarked on started back in January with a note home from School informing us a Healthy Lifestyle initiative run by NHS Highland. Over eight weeks we learned so much that it inspired us as a family to take hold of our health and lifstyle and impliment some difficult changes. The proffesionals who ran the course were inspirational and will not be forgotten in a hurry. We have along way to go. After all we as parents give our children the life skills and knowledge to life a long and healthy life. They will then pass on to their children and so on. We can make a difference if we really put our minds to it. I am hoping that any money raised will got to local organisations to promote the outdoors and their members health! I am also hoping that this might encourage other parents to " grasp the nettle" and start to make healthy choices. The words FAT and DIET are banned from our household, two words which bring misery to thousands of people who struggle with their weight. Donations made just now will go to the local Brownies in Tain. I will be adding more as the weeks progress.

Our local area has so much to offer and within recent weeks we have been on several walks and bike rides. My training starts in earnest this week and with the ultimate goal of climbing the 3 PEAKS! Should be in late October. I will be accompanied on the challenge by my big Brother Alan who has kindly offered to help and support me on this journey. Of course my heart and soul goes out to my long suffering partner who is always there with choice words and wisdom! And to my daughter Eve. Poor Eve gets up at 5am and walks with me and our dogs. You will thank me when your older!

My final thought is that if you are a parent and reading this take a minute and think about a few healthy choices that you can make which could make a difference to your child or children. At the end of the day you need to lead from the top. When they look up at you for guidance what do you do run for the sweets or offer fruit!!!! Or is it PS 3 or an outdoor activity!!!

Thank you in advance for the support and help. I have said enough now so goodbye!

So please dig deep and donate now.
