Story
In June 2018 I’ll be travelling to Zambia with Turner Broadcasting to help build a much-needed classroom block for children in the Shesheke Western Province.
Currently there is only one classroom block to accommodate 589 pupils. There are no facilities to support pre-school children in their learning. We will be helping more children go to school, start their learning, and get a better start in life.
I will be spending five days physically helping to build the school, and my tasks will include laying foundations, clearing land and mixing concrete. I’ll be working with the local community to strengthen their own efforts to change their children’s lives, for good.
It would be fantastic if you could support the new classroom by leaving a donation on my Just Giving page. Below you can see some examples of every little helps to make a big difference.
- Back to school pack for a child: £9.00
- Wooden desk for the classroom: £22.42
- Educate a child for a year: £30.00
- Bricks joints finishing for the build: £96.83
- Reinforced concrete footings: £105.44
- Plastering on internal walls of the classroom: £685.91
