Mesothelioma is a form of cancer that affects the Mesothelium, which is a thin membrane that lines the inner surface of the chest wall where it is known as the pleura, and abdomen, where it is known as the peritoneum. It also surrounds the organs found within these cavities for example the heart, lung and intestines.

Each year there are 2,000 to 3,000 new cases of Mesothelioma cancer in the UK alone.

Statistics on the outcomes of many past patients give today’s patients a general idea of their outlook. On average, 40 percent of  mesothelioma  survive at least one year after starting treatment, this was not the case for my grandma she fought cancer for three years, she was a fighter she never ever gave up, everyone that knew her are extremely grateful to have known her, she was such an amazing women and I am proud to call her my Grandma...
