On 1st January 2011, my 57th birthday, I made a pledge to myself to give back to Barnado's. I spent my childhood being looked after by the charity and want to ensure that children now have the best chance in life.

I cannot thank Barnado's enough for giving me the safe environment I needed to be able to build my life and be happy.
