On Friday 8 October, I’ll be skydiving from 15,000 feet at Dubai’s Palm Dropzone.

In part the skydive is to celebrate turning 70 this year, but also to promote and celebrate MET Studio and the completion of Alif - the Mobility Pavilion at the Dubai Expo. It really is quite something and a great effort by MET working in collaboration with WETA, Magnopus and the architects, Foster and Partners and of course, a fantastic client who played a fundamental role in the success of the project.

It seemed to me that this celebration has also provided the perfect opportunity to help raise awareness and fundraise for an excellent charity I am proud to be deeply involved with – Over The Wall. This wonderful children's charity provides transformational experiences for children living with serious illness and is part of Paul Newman's global network of similar camps.

My nephew Jack is also doing the skydive with me, and it'll be live streamed on Dubai Palm Dropzone's Instagram if you want to watch!
