Myself and Andy are putting our blubber to the rubber this year, running the Great North Run this September. We are running it in support of a great charity set up in memory of Finlay Bennett, who's Dad is a colleague and friend of mine.

Finlay sadly passed in 2014 at the age of 8, due to meningitis.  To honour his kindness and to support other families who experience similar situations to Finlay's family, Finlay's Friends aims to provide support when it is most needed.

The charity provide Comfort Kits to families of seriously ill children admitted to hospital in an emergency,  as well as additional support including useful information for the hospital stay, emotional support contacts, resources for the hospital family rooms and more. Initially we are in partnership with the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow who cared for Finlay and the Royal Edinburgh Hospital, with the long term plan being for Finlay’s Friends to support all Scottish Hospitals.
