Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit Alex's JustGiving page.

As you may know Alex was diagnosed with a low grade osteosarcoma (bone tumour) in his left arm/shoulder in January. Four weeks later he was admitted to the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (RNOH) up in Stanmore where he had surgery to remove his humerus and replace it with a titanium prosthesis. He's shown an amazing strength of character and now boasts a rather magnificent scar.  He's on the road to recovery and hoping to get back to his much loved sports as soon as he's able.  In the meantime he's taking part in the RNOH's 12th Annual "Buttercup Walk" on Sunday 8th June to raise money for their Redevelopment Appeal. This will enable them to build and purchase essential, state-of-the-art facilities for their new hospital, and significantly improve the quality and efficiency of the service they currently provide. Support for this Appeal is an investment in hope for the 90,000 men, women and children who come to the hospital every year traumatised by an accident, battling a life-threatening condition, or seeking a remedy for pain. We have the opportunity to make a real difference to their lives. Please help Alex reach his target of £500!  Thanks.
