We have a once in a lifetime opportunity to stop women dying from breast cancer.

Story

Dear All

So as you are all aware I had a nasty car accident at the end of February which put paid to my running for a long while, and I am working really hard to get back to where I was.  I have lost the 7lb I put on, and am building up my running distance again.  To help with this I have entered the Folkestone Half Marathon on 28 September 2014.

I have decided to run this in aid of Breast Cancer Campaign, as part of DED’s Wear It Pink Day preparations.  In honour of Pink Day I will therefore be dying my hair pink for the Half and wearing as much pink as I can!  Dressed stupidly and looking quite mad, I still hope to beat my Half PB which is 2 hours 21mins 59sec.

I have set up a Just Giving page – please please would you sponsor me to run this half, covered in pink and generally looking rather barmy?

Would be really grateful for any donation, whatever size.  If you would prefer to give me cash please do, and I will log the money online immediately with Just Giving.

Together we can hopefully raise nice lots of money to add to the fundraising we are doing for Wear It Pink and Movember.   I also need to run a lot to burn off all the calories from all the pink cupcakes I am making, practising in advance of bringing loads in to sell on Wear It Pink Day (of course Owen is helping out so well with this, gallantly eating cupcakes as fast as I can make them!).

Progress on training follows of course, I ran 8.15miles on Sunday morning from our house to the University of Kent, and home again.  That is the furthest I have run since before the accident – I loved it!  It feels amazing to be back to running proper distances again J

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
