Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In 2010 my best friend died from a brain tumour. When you're in your early thirties you think you're indestructible, but when people you know and are close to who are your age or younger die from Cancer it makes you realise haw fragile we humans are. Well at least it did for me and it did even more so when I had my own scare a couple of years ago.
Since 2010 I've raised a lot online & offline by running 5 & 10Km races, 10 Miles & two Half Marathons including the Great North Run for Breast Cancer Research & Cancer Research UK, I've done Dryathlons and been involved in a number of events for Joni's Army. But it's never enough.
So this year I'm taking on a new challenge to fight Cancer, literally with my fists with UCWB (Ultra White Collar Boxing) and Cancer Research UK. And believe me when I say it's a challenge as I'm a 40 year old father to be (again) and grandfather to be who can usually be found bobbing and weaving around the kitchen, not a boxing ring!
I'm a Chef & Nutritionist and I coach people on improving their health through the food they eat. Did you know that mortality in the UK from Cancer related to poor diet, is second only to Cancer caused by smoking? I help people get healthy, stay healthy and do everything they can to avoid the avoidable diseases such as Type 2 Diabetes, Heart Disease, Stroke & some Cancers through the development of good eating habits and a nutrition first approach to life.
But I'm not here to promote that, I'm here to promote fundraising for research for Cancer so please, even if it's just a quid, take a moment and throw some money in the pot. Or even sign up to fight yourself here: www.ultrawhitecollarboxing.co.uk
