Marie Curie provides care and support for people living with any terminal illness across the UK. Our nurses work night and day in people’s homes and our hospices offer specialist care. We also support people emotionally, provide practical information, and match them with trained volunteers.

Story

My amazing dad passed away in November from cancer. As a family and as an individual we received little support and my sister and I took care of him when he began end of life just six weeks after his terminal diagnosis. Marie Curie and the services they offer were only mentioned to me three days before he died but they lacked the funding to help us on such short notice. I dread to think how scared my dad would’ve been if he had had to face this all by himself like so many others.

Marie Curie provides such amazing support and services but are incredibly underfunded.

I’m not a long distance runner, the most I’ve ever ran is 5k but I’m going to give it my best shot to complete it so that something positive can come from losing my dad.
