My name is Alfie Butler, I am 9 years old (nearly 10), I have being growing my hair now for about 16 months. But no more, on Friday 5th November its all coming off!

It was always my intention to Have it all shaved off for sponsorship in aid of St. Lukes Hospice in Basildon.

They offer the very best care for all patients and their relatives.  Their support is exceptional and I would like to show my appreciation to them by way of raising some funds for the services they provide.

Lukes provides an excellent pre and post counselling service. helping children effected by cancer. 

They also provided memory blankets and teddy's for the younger members of our family when my great nanny Mary passed away at the hospice - they were all placed on her bed during her last few days and now we have them at home, they even gave my nan a red one!  I think that was very kind of them.

They also had to put up with all my family, they were always made very welcome and drank loads of tea. We even had our dinner their at the big table all together.

One night they had to put up 12 relatives for the night - including breakfast! I think that too was very kind of them.
