Story
Hello everyone, thanks for checking out the page.
A few years ago with NCS I took part in a string of fundraising events for Pink Place in Basingstoke, the great work they do with cancer sufferers and those who have recently finished treatment stuck with me. Not long after I decided I needed to do my bit and started growing my hair. Now we're three years down the line and I have it long enough to donate a foot to the Little Princess Trust, but with your help, if we can raise £750 by the 24th of March, I'll shave it all off!
I understand that's a big target (admittedly I'm quite reluctant to brave the shave) but if you break it down it's only a little over £20 a day, and I think we can do that!
Whether we make the target or not the money raised will be split between The Abel Foundation and Pink Place, with the hair itself going to The Little Princess Trust.
A little about all the charities: The Abel Foundation - Set up by Andover locals Tony and Claire Noakes after their son, Abel, was diagnosed with mitochondrial disease. The charity aims to deliver practical and emotional support to sufferers and sufferers family, as well as guidance when someone is newly diagnosed.
Pink Place - Situated on Wote Street in Basingstoke, Pink Place offers free therapies, beauty care, counselling, and hair and wig services (as well as much more) to those who are currently on, or have recently finished, cancer treatment. They have also just opened Blue Place the charities male counterpart.
The Little Princess Trust - Creates wigs (made from hair donations) for children (18 and under) who have lost their hair, whether it be from cancer or another disease.
