Story
Alfie is doing the Great North run again on the 17th of September.
Last year he really enjoyed participating in the event and also raised an enormous amount for UNICEF.
This whole thing was initially driven by Alfie watching Sports Relief and in particular a short film about children in Africa contracting Malaria, he seemed to understand that this horrible disease is largely avoidable and for a minimal cost. He showed real empathy and after the sportsman asked for people to donate, he very generously spent £20 on my phone bill to help these children. I explained that he could make a difference and suggested the great north run. He ran with this idea (literally) and raised a whopping sum thanks to friends and family and their generosity. He also had an obvious feeling of pride and acheivement when he crossed the line.
Well that was a year ago and I am pleased to announce that Alfie still has the drive to help others, and with the help of us all he could help make a difference again.
Please donate what ever you wish to, Alfie watches the total and gets really quite excited when people donate. We know we can't change the world, but little by little we can make a difference.
Remember when you were a child and you would run in the fields and jump in the rivers, summers were about picnics and playing football and the winters were a countdown to Christmas and the bounty that awaits? Remember that? Now imagine what these poor little kids have!
I know times are harder than ever but even a pound would make a difference.
Thank you for the amazing total last year. Please help us to reach a decent total this year.
Thank you
Alfie and Sal
