Médecins Sans Frontières / Doctors Without Borders (MSF) is the world's leading medical humanitarian aid organisation. We work in over 70 countries - in conflict zones, natural disasters and epidemics. We are independent, neutral and impartial. We provide medical care where it's needed most.

Story

Dr Lewis Hodgson passed away on 8th August 2017 aged 86. Lewis had a long and distinguished career as a General Practitioner and GP Trainer in North London and was a senior partner in a practice based at the John Scott Health Centre, one of the first purpose built NHS health centres in Britain. His life's work and commitment to primary health care services in North East London, both as a practitioner and member of numerous committees and advisory bodies (particularly in the area of GP obstetrics) was acknowledged by the award of an MBE in 1988. Alongside his contribution as a medical practitioner, Lewis also helped create opportunities for several generations of young people through his work as a leader for the Christian youth organisation The Covenanters.

We know that Lewis admired and supported the work of Medicine Sans Frontieres. We welcome donations however small in his memory.
